The Appraisal Department is part of the Revenue Commissioner’s Office in Montgomery County. The department consists of the following three areas:  Real Property, Business Personal Property, and Mapping. Each section plays an important role in valuing property under Act 160 of the Alabama Legislature that created the statewide reappraisal program and specified that all property is to be appraised at fair and reasonable market value using mass appraisal methods.
