If we were to look back to 2008, we would see a year filled with history-defining elections. In Montgomery County, we were involved in four elections that culminated with a record-breaking General Election in November. Many people thought once that election came to an end that we would begin preparing for 2010. Instead, here we are at that familiar place again – approaching yet another election cycle in 2009.
Because of the Special Mayoral Election, we will be one of the few jurisdictions in Alabama holding an election in 2009, and I recognize the great opportunity that this election will present to the citizens of Montgomery. This election will be yet another opportunity for you to become familiar with important dates and deadlines, as well as the practices and procedures that are used on Election Day.
Please take a moment to browse our website as you prepare for the 2009 Special Mayoral Election. We periodically update the website, and there are always slight differences when dealing with a municipal election. As always, if you have any questions please feel free to contact the Montgomery Election Center – we’re here to help.
