Protecting Our Kids

The internet can be both a blessing and a curse for our families.  Even though many kids can use the internet to search for homework, research, or fun, the wide world web also can be a dangerous place for children.  When children have unlimited and unsupervised access to the internet, problems may arise.  Parents are encouraged to monitor their children when they watch movies and television, so why should using the internet be any different.

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office is committed to protecting our children from becoming victims of online crime or engaging in illegal Internet activities themselves. The goals of the Protecting Our Kids Web site initiative are simple. We want to reduce the number of kids exploited and abducted by Internet predators; we hope to increase the reporting of such criminal activity; and we strive to provide parents, guardians, and educators with resources to make our kids’ online experiences safe, educational, and fun.
