Parks And Recreation

The Montgomery County Recreation Department was created in 1968 by an act of the Montgomery County Commission. The purpose of this department is to provide leisure activities to the citizens of Montgomery County, thereby improving their quality of life.

The Recreation Department operates County parks and recreation facilities as well as providing recreational programs for children during the summer months. The department is headed by a five-member board. The superintendent is employed by the Montgomery County Commission. The Recreation Department includes all of Montgomery County, except the City of Montgomery.

  • 10-acre park enclosed by chain link fence
  • Multi-use trail for use by bicyclists, walkers, joggers and in-line skaters
  • Trail is 10 feet wide and ½ mile long
  • Trail has secondary loop that provides a ¼ mile trail to accommodate the different ages and skill levels of users
  • Trail amenities include park benches, picnic tables and grills
